I love this palette the mattes are great the shimmers are amazing! I feel like this really does reflect the colors you would find in the ocean. I wish they would keep this palette in their permanent collection because it's that good.
The color story is gorgeous. The shadows are buttery! Smooth mattes, creamy shimmers. Can’t wait for more gorgeous palettes!
I started with the Flight Club palette, which is amazing. Then, I saw Menagerie was doing a crazy restock and I ordered this Whale Song palette along with Pastel Pup, Serenity, and the Arthurine blush palette. I have already written reviews for Flight Club and the blush palette if you look in those review sections. This Whale Song palette is the best one out of all the palettes I've purchased. I finally used it for the first time last weekend. I had a date and thought it would be fun to do a blue/green look. The mattes are soft and creamy. They are a level of pigmented that no other shadows are. I strongly recommend a primer so your lids don't stain too badly. It seems like the staining is minimal with the Mac Paint Pot. Anyway, my date began with a 7 mile hike and this eyeshadow held up through that. We went out to dinner afterward and then back to my place for a movie. At the end of the night, my eyeshadow still looked amazing. It did fade a bit after ten hours, but it was still in place and it looked good. This stuff would work great for nurses and doctors or for events where you need it to last. Unbelievable quality and longevity. Also, I own the Ace Beauty Oceanic palette which is a similar color story and if you're on the fence, go with Whale Song. I can't say enough good things about this palette after one use. I can't wait to use all the colors I didn't use the first time.
Absolutely outstanding palette! From the opaque easily blendable formula and gourgeous shimmers. To the great color story what's not to love??
These challenging colors perform well and blend quite nicely. the packaging is beautiful and lends well to the experience. The shimmers are rad and perform well with just primer. I had to shift my pans a little in the packaging, but it wasn't a big deal. Love to support PNW folks. Hello from Portland, OR.
